its been so dry, they have gone deeper I guess. plenty holes but no moles. I know they are there, Mounds everywhere.

 

 

Mole Quest

SO, who needs a tiller when they have the Shebaroosome. sometimes her head is buried past her ears. with the semi drought going on in Central Mississippi, the moles are looking for areas the slugs or what're they eat drift away to.

Sheba is on a mission and follows the trails, digging along their trails for several feet at times. Could this be my next garden area?? Well, maybe if I fence it off form the puppas. Mila also participles at times. I really have to watch walking the area. Ankle twisters DELUXE.

and yes, she does catch one from time to time.

Sure would be nice if she could dig post holes.

 

 

 

 

Shebaroosome, guarding her Gourd??? or wanting me to chase, which I never do. I talk her down. I so wish I had found Sheba before she was 9 months old. Half Lab wants to retrieve (certain Items) , she wants to give them to me, but sometimes the Rhodesian in her kicks in and she wants to run with it. I talk her down and eventually she gives it to me. I've even taken a wild baby bunny from her, although it took some major conversation. And Yes, one of them I saved and eventually returned to the wild.
she is a beautiful dog and watching her run is like Poetry in motion. she reminds me of the days I used to trail ride. Sheba (aka Cheebers) has a beautiful slow canter/lope. I love watching her run. INDOORS< not so much.... ha, 90 lbs of tornado.

yep, that tiny speck of dog is the great wanna bee Deer Dog, SHEBAROOSOME. 90 pounds of fast Labrador/Rhodesian Ridgeback muscle.

 There are a couple deer that nibble on the pond bank at dusk every evening. Shebaroosome runs that fence line (electric) yapping until I bring her in. OOPS, she got to close to the fence last week and got bit. I heard her yelp and too the house she ran. It took her 30 minutes to calm down. she slowed up a couple days, but now its back to running her side of the fence. she gets plenty exercise.

I downed a couple trees for a better view from the tall side of the pond, which is low due to the dam that needs repairing. the mobile home in site is the empty one next door, empty for a couple years now and hope it stays that way,

Just for reference on the low water, The water should be almost to where Sheba stands.

I call it Airborn,,, MIla calls it DIVE for cover at times.

SHEBAROOSOME is just that, Airborne at times. Poor Mila forgets to keep an eye on her at times and gets tackled. SURE am glad its not me. I'll be glad when Sheba settles down a bit more and I know Mila will. there are times when Mila will not venture too far out in the yard for fear of the "STALK".

Really Sheba is smart and listens most of the time. BUT its a work in progress. DON"T ever have a stomping fit indoors trying to get a dogs attention while wearing Crocs. it was not a pretty site, talk about some bruising and scrapes when I fell into the Hall tree. Its a wonder IT survived. AND SHEBA, she thought it was funny. 

 

RING AROUND THE WILLOW

sooooooo its been well over a year now since Shebaroosome became a member of the household and hopefully a friend to MilaMonster. THEY are buds at times, although, Mila being the older does take lots of time outs. Sheba (black) still has a ways to go, will she EVER quit functioning at FULL SPEED AHEAD??? She has learned a LOT and listens most of the time. SHE can even open her own crate door now and semi speaks amongst many other things. SHE is a great dog and so smart. ITS a shame the people that had her her first 9 months of life didn't know how to work with what would be a LARGE DOG.  Oh yes, they are half Rhodesian Ridgeback and half Labrador. THEY do have the ridge down their back. I know Sheba must have really loved the little girl that begged for her. ANY time she hears a child when we are out walking, she reallllly wants to go see where the sound is coming from. Its a shame so many people get a puppy and months later , they have some sort of reason to get "rid" of it. Craigs list has them by the gillions. I could so be a dog hoarder.

 HA, i know Mila will be glad to see her slow down also. Silly Sheba trys to move her about the yard by the collar.

WELL, i've been AWOP for a while, working on just about everything around my corner of world, the following are the two dogs i have at the moment. MilaMonster the yellow one is 7 great puppa, SHEBAROOSOME i adopted with help from CraigsList at 80lbs and 9 months old. AMAZING smart dog, but retraining is a constant. She had very bad manners when i got her. NOW after about 5 months she is becoming a better companion. THE folks who had her as a puppy never had a large dog and she was too much for them. BOTH puppas are Half Labrador and Half RHodesian RIdgeback, WOW they play ruff. and the back yard , OUCH!!!! I'm looking forward to Sheba getting a bit older. LOL

NEW seester for the MILAMOnster

WELLL, the MIlaMonster is seven now and I decided I better get another puppa before she gets any older, HER GET OLDER??? I should have said myself, becuase this new puppa is soooooooo full of life,,, I wanted one similar to the MIla, and as such I found this one on Craigs list (another story in the making)so many puppas listed there, WELL, I found one, Labrador/Rhodesian mix, which I and others call Labrodesian or is that Labradesian??? Nevertheless, she is Black, 9 months old, and SEVENTYNINE lbs already. AM I CRAZY??? More later. SUffice it to say, she is a handful, which is the reason her family was looking for her a new home, SHE is smart and learning already, but wow, never again, will i adopt one of that age and size. OH never say never!!!
