Cat Alarm

Banita,,,, best snake (little ones) catcher around.. I was doing stuff in the yard, and heard her calling, she doesn't often,,,,unless she has something caught her cornered. Small snake this time,,, I took off over there with a shovel. I had to get her to drop it.. wasn't a bad one and he took off for a pile of leaves , so i let him go. I don't think Banita was real thrilled with me. She is nine years old this year and sleeps a lot, but then all cats do, don't they??

Silly Dilla and Banita,,, rare moment of peace.

Well, sometimes I just do not know what to think of my two. American Bobtails? Manx? Who knows since they were both rescues.

I think Banita (left) would be open to friendship, but Dilly can't make up her mind. she might sniff noses, and then a flurry of slaps. Maybe because she had such a hard start to life. Tossed from a car, leg broken, A lady noticed, scooped her up and took her to the vet. She could not keep the kitty, but paid for full vetting, repair of broken leg, spaying, all of it.
Dilly, aka Baradilla, akd Aradilla lived at the vet In Crystal Springs for a while, then fostered by a friend of mine, who kept talking about her, till I took her in.

Please excuse the bare floor in spots. I ripped up carpet, mainly due to dogs and cats. and I haven't decided , nor found the money or is it REALLY ENERGY<< to replace. I'll not go back to carpet for sure.

shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh, DO NOT DISTURB Dilly!! peace reigns for a few.

Litter Versus layer crumbles.

sooooooooo,

This past weekend I ran across a forum talking about using layer crumbles for kitty litter, and how much a person can save. I was running it over in my head for a day or two.
I was shopping in Big Lots and struck up a conversation with a lady looking at Kitty supplies. I asked her what she used for litter.
LOW AND BEHOLD, she hesitated and then said she uses LAYER CRUMBLES. She gets them at Tractor Supply,
Clinton does have a feed store also, so I  decided to check theirs out, plus I had read they have nice Paul T Brown calendars FREE. They don't always have name brand feed, so I bought the Ware crumbles, manufactured in Houston MS, 10.95 I think for 50 lbs.
My kitties are not indoors 24/7 as I live 1000feet off the road. So far they are ok with the crumbles, I did mix a bit of the clay litter with.
Since starting this I have read another forum that says, the non medicated starter crumbles does clump better, so when this FIFTY pounds is gone, I may try it. AT least it is biodegradables plus I can feed it to the chickens and birds if it doesn't work out.
IF the kitties will use it, I'm all for doing my little part towards helping the environment.

Don't be fooled, this is about as close as they get to each other every now and then., the next few minutes , they will blow up at each other, I'm still not sure who instigates it. I should have stuck with ONE CAT.

Horse Killer

LOL, did you really think I had a REAL horse killer on hand? No , just a pretend one, just the newbie, BANITA kitty!! I have enjoyed her but a bit worrisome as its been a while raising a youngster. She is pretty much outdoors now full time, although I have been locking her up at night and when I am not home for a few more weeks, well except last night, because I COULD not find her! I called and called her till around 9PM. gave up and crashed for the evening, FIRST thing i did at 3 this morning, check the storage room and WALLLAH,,, there she was snoozing in her brand new bed!! I gave that kitty a piece of my mind for sure!! will she do it again? I expect so!

seeya,

the best is yet to come!!

new kitty in town

here we have the newest adoption in the home, bobtail Manx ,3 or 4 months old adopted off craigslist, next stop vet to be altered. She already thinks she owns the place i think, MilaMonster is not a happy camper. I hope they can learn to tolerate each other, if not she will be rehomed again. I do intend her to be more outdoors once I trust her not to get lost in the jungle that surrounds my teeny spot outside town. Still working on a name, they called her Bobbi, but it just doesn't fit, BUT i would like a B name with a twist! LOL
