OOPS, forgot one,,, for poor little BF (betta fish) will have to return to Dollar store and get another stocking. Kritter stockings mostly , for sure! I will be adding more! Dunno why I didn't get extra as they were only 50cents each. I've yet to find and ORANGE one for myself, I guess ORANGE isn't a Christmas color in most folks book, My book is a bit tarnished perhaps?

new kritter come spring!
Here we Have MOTT, a wild caught injured Box Turtle. He is doing well now but due to large portion of his shell missing on his rear, we will not be releasing him back into the wild. I am building him a safe enclosure that should be ready this spring.
For now he is in turtle rescue home recovering after a few visits to the vet and much TLC. He will have to be kept indoors this winter as he did not get to do preliminary hibernation. He is doing great and eating well. He may not be in the wild again, but his enclosure will have a top his private castle pool etc. I still have a bit more to do to it, but should have it complete by spring.

We are not the best carpenters in the world, but each project teaches us a bit more. ALL in all hopefully it will hold up for a LONG WHILE. LOL, next project, maybe we CAN build a turret on MY HOUSE????????? will see, I hope we get some more work in on this project this weekend, we are going for more lumber, but we have a roadtrip planed this Saturday to Natchez , so time is limited. AT least she is off ever other Friday and I have Fridays off work, so maybe it will not take us forever and a day!!

Horse Killer
LOL, did you really think I had a REAL horse killer on hand? No , just a pretend one, just the newbie, BANITA kitty!! I have enjoyed her but a bit worrisome as its been a while raising a youngster. She is pretty much outdoors now full time, although I have been locking her up at night and when I am not home for a few more weeks, well except last night, because I COULD not find her! I called and called her till around 9PM. gave up and crashed for the evening, FIRST thing i did at 3 this morning, check the storage room and WALLLAH,,, there she was snoozing in her brand new bed!! I gave that kitty a piece of my mind for sure!! will she do it again? I expect so!

Banita the new kitty, WOW
Well, Banita seems to have moved right in and made herself to home! She is outdoors part time, Im still locking her up for a couple more weeks when I am not there to check on her from time to time,
She has totally taken over or seems to think she has, although while attempting to intimadate the MILAMONSTER she makes sure there is a fence or baby gate between, she marchs right up to the fence and slaps and spits!
My poor little Italian greyhound (15+) went through a depression i'm afraid but seems to be adjusting.
My Orange cat (Bogmeister) east breakfast and disappears for the day, yesterday he did come home around 4, so maybe he is adjusting slowly?

new kitty in town
here we have the newest adoption in the home, bobtail Manx ,3 or 4 months old adopted off craigslist, next stop vet to be altered. She already thinks she owns the place i think, MilaMonster is not a happy camper. I hope they can learn to tolerate each other, if not she will be rehomed again. I do intend her to be more outdoors once I trust her not to get lost in the jungle that surrounds my teeny spot outside town. Still working on a name, they called her Bobbi, but it just doesn't fit, BUT i would like a B name with a twist! LOL

MilaMonster SwimHole
Ok, so it aint a real swimhole, just a cooldown spot, and alas she isn't really all Labrador, so apparently she doesn't really care for it. it took a ball to get her in the Pool! AND really she dosent' even like the big ORANGE ball, she does love her tennis ball, she does get the fetch genes from her Lab side, but a lot of her personality is Rodesian Ridgeback. Gotta love my puppawhuppa!

what goes there?
OK, I did get the pictures a bit out of order, the bottom picture is the wild thing i dug up and planted in the yard, snaky things that like to look at each other? the top picture after they go to seed and die off for the summer. the Plant bottom acutally looks like corn. it has a bulb. Care to guess what it is??? wild onion, garlic , dunno!

Turtle Invasion
Its that time of the year,,, Turtles abound , back and forth they cross the yard , in search of that perfect spot to deposit eggs! MilaMonster checked this one out, NEVER fear, no turtles harmed in the filming of this picture!! THEY do not move fast enough to hold her interest, after all , she is half Rhodesian Ridgeback, she wants to CHASE things!!!

Care to Guess?
My Guess is Eastern Towhee? some sort of Towhee, but I am not the best at identifying birds, I keep intending to purchase a bird book for Mississippi Birds, but alas, it has not happened. I see these from time to time, mostly in the underbrush scratching ,hopping about similar to a chicken. Pretty birds I think. I managed to snap a photo finally.

Scraggley for now!
I should not talk about my lonesome Azaleas so. But really they havn'et done much. The large red one is older and did bloom this year, the others are very new, very small, Again Thanx R. for directing me to the Japanese Azaleas, I wasn't happy where I planted them first and moved them, I also moved a couple others from last year, Hopefully next years picture will show some real growth!

The Goose That Came to Stay!
Well, here we have Papa and Mama, No baby Goslings, Dunno what happened, didn't hatch or SOMETHING ate them?????????? From what I have read, maybe a good thing, But I sure was thinking it would be fun to watch them grow. The geese have flown away to better ponds, I think they check in every now and then, Looks like them, but whose to say?
Well Actually Two of them, This is Papa Goose, Mama goose sitting on a nest I do believe,Not the best shot, but it is what it is thanx to new camera and decent zoom.
There was a humongous fight a couple weeks ago between this couple and another. I thought it was just a quick visit, but Looks like these two decided to stay. I dunno if that is good or not after reading a few articles on line.
I guess I'll know for real in another two/three weeks if I see babies following along behind. WELL if they survive the snakes/coyotes/fox etc.
Maybe I'll get lucky and be able to add a picture of mama on nest. I barely can see her from certain angles in the yard across the pond , and I AM NOT going around thru the briars, not to mention I read they are very protective. PAPA sure swims around on the guard, he has chased away many a crane!

Pineapple Guava
Hay hay,
I owe a big thanx to Ramona!!! THANXXXXXXXXXXXxxx for the heads up on Ellen's Nursery in Crystal Springs, LOVE THE PLACE!! I did get two of the Guava plants, the teeny one was on ebay, lets see if it catches up to the other two. I was afraid I wouldn't make it to Ellen's so i went ahead and bid on the teeny one. SHOULD HAVE WAITED, but my middle name is not patience. I still have cleanup to do, but they are in the ground! and a nice rain blew through so, maybe off to a good start hiding the NEW fence and the Neighbors! Ellen was soooooooooo nice , she was out of the Banana Shrub and the Black elephant ears, but might have them in a couple weeks, if i can make it back out.
ALSO , I did get a couple of the Lavender Japanese Azaleas at the feed store. OHHHHH, and they had Baby ORANGE CHICKENS< no i did not buy them and I don't exactly agree with the practice of dieing chickens for pets. BUT they were cute!!
seeya, WISH me luck on the the growth of the Pineapple Guava,
PS, Ellen said tell Ramona hello, and that she made jelly with her Guava!

South Fence 2010
Well, the new fence on the South Side of the property did not totally obscure the neighbor, but its a bit more scenic perhaps? My blogs were few and far between with office work, other PC stuff and FENCE building which started last August I think. In the Foreground is the BogeMiester, I may still add a few more top boards at my leisure, but its a working fence with the addition of an above ground electric fence in the front for the Mila Monster. IT may not be the straightest fence in the world but it should be there for years to come!

are WE tired of Mississippi snow pix yet? LOL
I Know , I know, just some more snow pix, but its just unheard of here in my part of the world, well almost, the snowman was down the street, I just didn't have it in me to complete mine. AND how can you do snow pix without a snowman?
then we have the back yard with pond,,,, My own cut thru walk path, I had to do some funny shennaigans to walk thru with all the bent over limbs, HAY I only lost electric for 5 hours!! and OF COURSE the MILA MONSTER,,, she was not impressed with snow, especially after it formed a crust the next day.. THE SNOW is almost gone now in my neck of the woods, a few really pitiful snowman remnants here and there. LOL, gotta love it when you can stay home!!! WHICH I DID!!!!

Mardi Gra shared with the Mila Monster
hay hay, Its been a while since I posted but I do still enjoy floating around and checking out others blogs even if i don't always comment, busy days and life lately. Acutally these pictures were taken last year, but I figured they were right on time for the time of year! THE puppa doesn't too much mind anything I do to her except spray and use itch meds on her. She's a great companion for sure.
I have to admit, I don't do Mardi Gra , way to many people for the social invalid I can be at times. LOL
